Gabriela Sandoval Requena

Director of Policy & Communications

Gabriela oversees New Destiny’s advocacy and communications to increase visibility and spearhead progressive change. She works closely with partner organizations and lived experts to expand housing resources for survivors for domestic violence at the city and state levels. Prior to joining New Destiny, she served as Director of Regulatory Affairs at a health-focused nonprofit participating in New York State Department of Health’s five-year Medicaid reform program, where she managed government relations and program compliance. Before that she worked as Policy Analyst at Coalition for the Homeless. Gabriela earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and her Master of Public Administration from Baruch College while being undocumented. She was born in Chile and has lived in NYC most of her life. Gabriela has two rescue cats: Luna and Pibe Suarez, the three of them are Mets fans.
